JIMMY HOODENPYLE 2602 Marlboro St., Lubbock, TX 79415 (806) 778 1106 EMail: jhooden@cox.net I
started to Texas Tech in July or August, 1956, so I would have a job at
the Dairy. I lived in the dairy barn with about 10 other guys. My room
mate was the Red Raider Rider who rode the horse around the football field
at the ball games. I can not describe the fun we had. I lived with another
Red Raider Rider the next year and we traveled to several out of town
games together. I received my B.S. in Dairy Industry and Dairy Science in
1960 and have been involved with the dairy business off and on since then.
I worked for Merck and Co., selling veterinary medicine for 2 1/2 years
and then for DuPont selling Ag Chemicals and feed additives for 7 years. I
had a farm store and fertilizer business at Lubbock for 6 years and in
1999, my two elder sons, Kyle and Deryl, and I built a 2500 head dairy at
our farm in Pecos, Tex. We sold it in 2001 and moved back to Lubbock. My
wife, Catherine (Elliff), did not have any use or desire to live in Pecos.
We only lived there for one year and that was enough.
