FRANCES (BROOKS) HINKLE 4525 Margurite Lane, Ft. Worth, TX 76123 (817) 370 2204 EMail: franhinkle@sbcglobal.net Hobbies/Special Interests: Crafts, theater, music, travel, grandchildren Events since last reunion: Birth of my only grandson, I also moved from McKinney, TX to Fort Worth because the majority of my family is here. Carol Swinburn Adcock and LaQuita McMillan also are in Ft. Worth and we have great fun with each other. Dreams: I wanted to get a college degree, which I did and marry and have a family. These dreams came true. Memories: Years of Band Trips, what fun. Our special teachers and administrators, Miss Hulsey, Mr. Swinburn, Mr. Bryan, Coach Stewart. The day of the Boycott, my parents took me out of school (because they knew this was going to happen), so I was in Canyon visiting my Grandparents. Painting of the water tower, Proms, Jr. & Sr. Plays. One night after play practice, I opened my car door and there lay a body in the front seat of my car with a knife stabbed in at the throat. I just started running and had to be chased down, I was so terrified. Jeff Carlisle, and I am not sure who else was responsible for this. It was actually a mannequin with catsup all over it. In the ensuing years, Jeff made sure I had not forgotten about this. Music in high school is a great memory. Choir, Sextet, Quartet and Dennis McGavock singing “Sixteen Tons” in one of our shows. Senior Trip - did we nearly not get to go????? I also remember going to see Elvis Presley with Joe Clayton and Don Max Vars and LaQuita Noble - what an experience. One other little memory, the year we were Seniors, Bermuda shorts came in fashion. I had a pair and wore them to school on a Friday instead of jeans. The boys caused such a ruckus, I was sent home to change clothes. Tulia was a wonderful place to grow up and I am grateful for my childhood.
